Food is prepared by highly trained chefs to meet all dietary requirements and snacks are freely available 24 hours a day. We provide comprehensive care planning of a service users’ needs involving the individual and their relatives. Care provision is a dynamic and ever-changing process and requires regular assessment and evaluation of a resident’s needs. We do this by recruiting and retaining the highest calibre of staff who have a passion for the work they do.
Residents and their relatives should feel satisfied with the standard of care received and are able to comment on any aspect of care received within the care plans and home environment. The complaints procedure will be explained to residents and their relatives on admission. I have worked in the care sector for the last 38 years and until recently I was Registered Manager of a domiciliary care agency covering Cumbria. I have a passion for those with Dementia and End of Life care in particular, but I love the stories and history you get from working closely with the residents. I want to give to those that are now vulnerable and help them to achieve their personal goals.

The option of 2 communal lounges and two quiet lounges means that not everyone has to socialise if they just want some peace. We have a kitchenette for residents and their visitors to use as well as a lift where required. Our relatives’ room provides a perfect opportunity for our residents to catch up with their families in the company of other families. Meals times at Barnfield are protected, and we welcome friends and relatives to join our residents for meals at our nursing home. Your personal washing will be carefully laundered and returned to you, clean and fresh. Meal times are a special part of the day for you to savour tasty food, freshly cooked by our chef to suit you and any dietary needs. You can bring your own furniture to furnish your room, such as a favourite armchair or their own bed. Some of our residents bring their own curtains which makes the room theirs and more homely. All rooms are bright and spacious with en suite bathroom and we have free wifi throughout the home. Getting older can make it more difficult to get around and do the things you used to do, or would like to do. A challenge we all face as we get older is to think about where we live, and how it will work for us when we’re older.

I strive to be a good listener and be empathetic but also to be a firm task master when required. Holmewood is registered for 26 older adults, who require Residential Care and Support. All 25 bedrooms at Holmewood have either en suite showers or baths, and these are enhanced by the easy-access Jacuzzi bath provided in the disabled bathroom. Holmewood sits in a prestigious location on Lamplugh Road, on the edge of Cockermouth, about a ten-minute walk from the centre of town, but with views towards the nearby fells of Lorton to the south and Skiddaw to the east. The Home occupies the major portion of a small exclusive estate, sharing the site with three newly built detached houses, but with its own landscaped lawns and garden which also features a large purpose-built timber gazebo. Outside, Holmewood care home Chesterfield has a large landscaped garden with raised flower beds which blossom beautifully in the summer months when we host BBQs.
We’re in Leamington Spa, set back off Kenilworth Road in beautifully landscaped grounds. We’re close to the town centre with a bus stop nearby and plenty of parking for visitors. Our convenient location ensures that residents can enjoy the peace of their home while remaining connected to the wider world.
